MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN news correspondents bagged 3 out of 6 awards of the 2011 Comguild Awards at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo on Sunday.
Bandila news anchor Karen Davila was named the best female news presenter while TV Patrol news anchor Ted Failon was hailed as the best male news presenter.
Davila and Failon were also the recipients of the same awards last year.
Meanwhile, the Comguild Awards recognized Sol Aragones as the best field reporter.
More than 2,000 journalism and mass communication students from various colleges and universities nationwide watched the event.
The Comguild Awards is held every year to recognize the exemplary work of journalists in the country.
Its awards committee is composed of highly regarded deans and schools heads of several colleges and universities in the Philippines. – Report from Gretchen Malalad, ABS-CBN News
